What About the British?

Compared to the Colonists, the British soldiers were better trained and better equipped. They had lots of fighting experience, and they were used to following orders. Unlike the colonial farmers, these Scottish Highlanders were experienced fighting men.

Everything about these soldiers was designed to make them look fearsome. Their fur hats made them look taller, and their long guns with bayonets (the sharp blades at the end) were frightening.
