Looking for a new way to create an online presentation? Check out this site! It is a part of the Google docs package, so once you have a Gmail account, you automatically have access to this straight forward tool. It is very similar to PowerPoint, but has the advantage of working across platforms and running systems without the utilization of data transfer devices. Everything is at your fingertips online with Google Docs Presentation Maker. If you only want to use this tool to disseminate information to your students, you can give the students access to the links of your presentations without the use of a Gmail account. This is convenient if students do not have access or permission to use email at school. Google applications have easy to follow directions and the pages look familiar to PowerPoint users.

In the Classroom
Try uploading classroom presentations to share on your class website so that students may access them anywhere or in the event that they are absent. Have students work collaboratively from home using their computers and this tool to create group presentations. Previous slide creation experience makes this tool easier but is not a requirement to use it.Most directions can be found onscreen and if you need extra help, you can click on the help button. Files can be uploaded by clicking on the upload button located near the top left of the screen. It is important to know that you have the ability to allow your presentations to be viewed by all internet users, your Google groups, or even specific individuals. Use this to your advantage when planning. Release class presentations to groups that are made of your classes. It is probably wise to only share with your students rather than the world when you are first starting with this tool.
