boomy uses artificial intelligence to help you personalize and create original music, even if you never created songs before. The more songs you create, the more boomy personalizes offerings based on your preferences. Begin by selecting the option to create a song then choose a style. Style options include Beats By You, Relaxing Meditation, and Advanced. When ready, create your song. It may take a minute or more, so be patient as boomy works it magic. Once your song is ready, listen to the preview and make additional adjustments. Use the Try Again option to make a different mix or use the edit option to adjust the settings. When finished, save your song to your library. Next time you use boomy, the site uses your preferences and saved music to create new music. Download songs to your computer, choosing from a variety of audio file choices or share using the URL or links to social media sites.

This is the perfect place to create your mixtapes!

Use Audacity in a variety of ways in your classroom. Let students become familiar with creating audio files by practicing voice recordings and experimenting with Audacity's editing tools. As students become familiar with this tool, use its many features to create background audio for podcasts, to create podcasts, or to record audio instructions for lessons. Are you having trouble finding Blues sites with the music? Listen to handpicked classic, popular Blues sounds of the 1920s, 30s, 40s and 50s on this YouTube playlist. You'll find Leadbelly, Billie Holiday, Duke Ellington, Count Basie, Jelly Roll Morton, Joe Venuti, Bessie Smith and many, many more. The music is crystal clear with none of the scratchy sounds you hear with many old songs that were recorded from old technology. If your district blocks YouTube, you may not be able to enjoy this music.

Share this site with parents looking for advice in choosing an instrument for their student. In the classroom download and play these Halloween songs during your class fall or Halloween party. Once you select a video, choose from four different levels - the hardest requires you to fill in all the words of the song! Choose also to fill in the blanks or select responses from the four provided options. Registration isn't required; however, it allows you to save favorites and create your own customized exercises. This YouTube channel features many videos exploring the world of music. Particularly interesting are the Classical Music Mashups. These videos combine the works of classic composers into one clever mashup and challenge viewers to identify how many of the timeless tunes they can identify. Other videos on the site include a Disney music mashup, Sounds of America, and a National Anthem mashup. The videos are hosted on YouTube. If your district blocks YouTube, then they may not be viewable.

In the Classroom
Music teachers will enjoy using these mashups to introduce classical music to students. Even if you're not a music teacher, challenge your students to identify the different composers and their compositions found in these videos. After viewing a video, explore full-length compositions and other pieces by each composer. Challenge musically-inclined students to make their own mashup of any music. Use a tool like Soundtrap, reviewed here, where you can blend tracks together using the Soundtrap editor. Share student videos on a site such as TeacherTube, reviewed here. Teaching English Jukebox is a Padlet, reviewed here, with links to many videos useful for teaching English and grammar concepts through song. Each Padlet entry includes the name and artist of the video along with a suggestion for its use in teaching English. Some concepts on the site include past tense, idioms, and story-telling. Click any entry to go to the shared video. Some of the videos reside on YouTube. If your district blocks YouTube, the videos may not be viewable.

In the Classroom
Browse through these suggestions with your class with a projector or interactive whiteboard, or have students explore on their own. Math in Real Life is a selection of TEDed videos all related to real life examples of math in use. Videos look at subjects such as music and math and winning at rock, paper, scissors. In addition to the video, each selection includes questions to enhance thinking and guided discussion options. Some videos also offer a Dig Deeper link with information on related resources. If your district blocks YouTube, the videos may not be viewable; be sure to look at alternatives for sharing videos on classroom computers.

Browse through the site to find content or choose the playlists to find videos by specific topics. Most videos run less than 10 minutes in length making them perfect for use in many situations.
