Create regular or special podcasts to share on your class web page or wiki. Create a mini gallery of images taken during a lab or a portfolio of images from photography, art, or any other class. Add music and share as part of a digital portfolio. Looking for even more ideas? Use this tool in your blended or flipped classroom to record class assignments or directions. Record story time or a reading excerpt for younger ones to listen to at a computer center AND from home, adding a touch of blended learning to your classroom! Have readers (perhaps older buddies) build fluency by recording selected passages for your non-readers. Launch a service project for your fifth or sixth graders to record stories for the kindergarten to use in their reading and listening center. Challenge students to create "you are there" recordings as "eyewitnesses" to historical or current events. In the Classroom
Click Create to find a category from which you want your students to work; present several using a projector or on an interactive whiteboard. Show the interactivity to students. Then, create one together as a class to try out the tools (don't forget to name it). Keep it simple or add all the bells and whistles. Preview as you work or return later to complete and publish. Of course, you will want to model and teach appropriate documentation of any sources of images and media you use and to use copyrighted works legally.There are limitless ideas for using Genially in the classroom! Here are just a few: Ask students to create their own Genially as a new way to assess understanding of a concept or unit of study: you could even provide links to images and raw materials they may use (especially if you have students who need extra scaffolding), and they can work with them to sequence, caption, and write about the pieces. After a first project where you possibly suggest "building blocks," the sky is the limit on what they can do. Even the very young can make suggestions as you "create" a whole-class interactive together using a projector or an interactive whiteboard. Consider making a new project for each unit you teach so students can "recap" by visiting the presentation long after the unit ends. Save student projects from year to year as examples, possibly even awarding prizes for "best" examples. Have upper elementary or middle school students create an interactive project to help "little buddies" two or three grades lower to understand a concept.

The apps include a spreadsheet, word processor, KWL tool, PDF, Flipbook, and a mind mapping tool. Two or more students work together using their own devices to collaborate on any project either face to face or from a distance. In addition to the apps, the site also offers a few starter activities, called Roadmaps for download. Apps use Google logins and work best in Chrome, Firefox, and Safari browsers. Be sure to go into Beyondpad's Demo Mode for hands-on practice with all of the site's features. Beyondpad also includes apps for Chrome, Windows, and Firefox. The Demo Mode will not save your work unless you sign in with email and password or one of several social media accounts. Create a class account to organize information into one easy to access place. Spell out the use of the site and what is allowed and not allowed -- and the penalties. Even though all students have the same login, create different notebooks for different tasks that students can use to upload information to be shared by all. Create separate accounts for student groups who can then share their notebook with other groups. Use tags to easily find and identify specific information. Create checklists of steps in a project. Place all notes in one place, so you do not forget. Use this tool easily in a Bring Your Own Device (BYOD) classroom since all students will be able to access it for free, no matter what device they have. ClassTag is a cloud-based management system for teachers to engage parents in their classroom community. Instead of parents signing up, teachers add emails to send out invitations to participate. All included emails receive notice of updates and information even without signing up. ClassTag allows teachers to view who has read announcements and other pertinent information. Another option allows teachers to send out a weekly newsletter including personal notes and updates.

Words for Life is a site for adults caring for or teaching children from birth through age 11 to promote literacy and communication skills. Select an age level to find tips and information, expected milestones, books, and "fun stuff to do together" such as videos, games, and audio stories. The site was created in the UK, so some of the pronunciations and spellings may differ from those in American English.

In the Classroom
Type or copy and paste what you'd like to hear into the Text 2 Speech box. Use speed options to slow down speech for ENL/ELL students. Mark this site on your teacher web page for your ENL/ELL students to hear something read or pronounced both in an outside of class. Fill out the short form with your name and email to access the guide. Based on actual world records, activities challenge students to engage in research then share their findings through maps, drawings, or writing projects.

In the Classroom
Download and print the teacher's guide for use in your classroom. Use activities as math and science centers, or for group research projects. Have students create online posters sharing their research either individually or together as a class using a tool such as PicFont, reviewed here, or PicLits, reviewed here. Use an online tool such as Interactive Two Circle Venn Diagram, reviewed here, when comparing and contrasting different world records.
