Oh, the Places You’ll Go! Social Learning in the Science Classroom

Session Description:

We’ll focus on the importance of social learning theory through developing the skill of personification. Examples of three web-based open educational resources (OERs) available to educators will be presented. Critical thinking, formative assessment, blogging and digital citizenship will be underlying areas of focus.

Purpose & Objective:

Participants will become familiar with the social learning theory and the use of personification to enhance critical thinking within the classroom. Three online web-based applications will be presented and participants will be able to take away information to successfully utilize the platforms in their classrooms or schools. Blogging, Fakebook, and MySciLife will be presented as OER for educators.
