Session Description:

People’s Choice winner. Discover how to spice up your primary classroom with engaging, free technology. Learn how to integrate technology into all areas of literacy: reading, writing, listening and speaking, and language. See how to use tech tools for whole group instruction, centers, differentiation support and ESL students. Your students will engage and grow in literacy knowledge.

Purpose: Discover how to integrate free literacy technology tools in your primary classroom.  Discover tools in each domain of language arts: reading, writing, speaking, listening, and language.  Next find how to use these tools  within the 3 E Framework: Engage, Enhance, and Extend to support student learning. After learning possible tools, look at ways to support reading, guided reading, reader’s response, and writing.  

 

Objectives:
    • The participant will be able to gain knowledge of a variety of free educational tools to support literacy instruction in the primary grades.
    • The participant will be able to determine a variety of ways to support literacy instruction with each tool presented.
    • The participant will be able to evaluate tools presented to determine which tool might be effective in their learning environments.
    • The participant will have QR codes with information presented to share with colleagues.
