What About the British?
The British were also used to carrying lots of equipment with them. This officer's tent has a bed, several trunks, even a rug! Having lots of equipment was useful, but it also meant that moving from one place to another took a lot of time and energy.
Soldiers had to carry everything they needed with them. Powder horns, candles, bags of musket balls, and other equipment were important to each soldier's survival.
Native Americans sometimes fought along with the British soldiers. They hoped that if the British won the war all the English colonists would leave the Native Americans' lands.
