This site provides highlights of current research on ADHD, and provides references to specific scientific studies. Most interesting for teachers maybe the tab at the top titled "Start." Slide down to ADDA Resources and find "ADHD Education." There are many articles for help with adult ADHD, too. Find webinars, a directory of ADHD professionals, support groups, workshops and much more.

The American Statistical Association's careers page includes lots of information on what statisticians do, careers in statistics, and information on who hires statisticians. Click Education and under K12 Educators, slide to Classroom Resources to find several helpful links, and there's also a useful careers kit for students interested in statistics as a career. Although this site isn't highly interactive, it does offer a decent amount of information on a lesser known career option.

The PBS Frontline series has taken a look at the SAT and how different schools use it to help make admission decisions about their applicants. While not a definitive study, the site shows some of the criticisms that have been leveled against the test, but also shows that the SAT is not the only criterion schools use in making their decisions. Worth a look if you work with college-bound students.

In the Classroom

Counselors and career advisors alike will appreciate the information offered by this site. Post the site on the school web page, and refer it to students who are beginning the search of what to do after high school. Some of the information is geared towards post-under graduate students, but the career counseling is still helpful to those who want to look for jobs rather than higher education. Perhaps seeing the scarcity of jobs available without higher education will motivate students to pursue college after all!
