Use this site as a way to approach the tons of information students are expected to learn about the Roman empire. Assign students into pairs or cooperative learning groups, and have them choose one of the many topics to research in the "Rome Exposed" section. Have each student group research their topic, with the intent to present their information to the class. Have each group prepare a quick presentation by creating online books using a tool such as Bookemon, reviewed here.
