Simultaneously spinning multiple wheels opens the door to unlimited uses to engage students. For example, create six wheels with the numbers on dice as a virtual dice roller. In addition, customize wheels for creative story writing prompts that include options for random characters, setting, and story theme. Use this tool to practice math facts by creating wheels that prompt players to solve math problems based upon a spin of the wheel. During Black History Month, feature one of the scientists included on the list each day. Choose the Science at Home activities to find engaging activities to complete at home, such as making slime or creating a rubber band bungee cord to drop an egg safely. Each activity includes a list of items needed, instructions, and a simple explanation of the science concept. Many activities also include video demonstrations. The video portion of the site shares information on various topics such as hatching baby chicks and understanding forces used in elevators. Be sure to visit the educators' part of the site that includes directions for learning labs, science education webinars, and Jr. Science Cafes, sharing discussions with professionals in the medical field and the impact of COVID.

Spaces is a portfolio-creation tool that provides assessment opportunities and demonstrates student progress through three different types of Spaces. First, create a Class Space to share files and media and promote discussion for the whole class. Second, Group Spaces offer the ability to connect with groups designed from within the Class Space. Kleki is a free online image editing tool that doesn't require registration. Features include creating multiple layers of images, adding filters, including text and drawing elements, and more. Use Kleki's Help feature to locate and use shortcuts and learn about many of the available tools. When finished, download your image to your device in a PNG or PSD format.
In the Classroom
Challenge students to learn about the different options and features included with Kleki, then create and share video tutorials for their peers using a screen recording tool like Free Screen Recorder Online, reviewed here. As your students become familiar with the different features, have them include their edited images in any multimedia projects. Include images when using Adobe Creative Cloud Express for Education, reviewed here, to create videos, flyers, or websites. Create and share timeline infographics using the intuitive tools and templates available from Canva or start from scratch to create a unique design. Make your selection easier by opening the dropbox on the left menu to narrow options to the free templates. Another option allows you to choose the color of the design. After selecting a template, add or change text, images, backgrounds, and other design elements. Next, upload your images or choose from Canva's image library. Canva's drag and drop features make it easy to personalize any design quickly. When finished, share the link for others to view or download as an image or PDF file.

Timelines aren't just for dates and events! Use the templates found at Canva to create timelines showing the different stages of the growth of flowers, lay out the step-by-step process of lab experiments, and more. Create a timeline to share with your students that includes deadlines and a time frame for long-term projects or defines the semester's syllabus.
