Free plans allow teachers to add up to fifty students, including twenty-five AI credits monthly and unlimited lesson plans, rewards, and messages. After creating an account, use the links on your dashboard to add a class, plan and teach, communicate, find templates, and more. Next, use the create lesson option to generate a lesson based on your objectives and standards. Options are available to upload resources and import standards. After developing lessons, use the edit options to adjust the lesson and activities as desired. Return to your lessons to find additional AI generation tools that create images, questions based on Bloom's Taxonomy, choice boards, exit tickets, and more. Teachally has many built-in video tutorials that guide members through the options offered. Always check your results for accuracy when using AI-generation tools.

What font do you read fastest in? Take the test provided by the Virtual Readability Lab to test the best font for you. Begin by starting the test to view the directions. The test shares several short reading passages along with comprehension questions at the end of each passage and takes approximately five minutes to complete. When finished, users receive a report that includes the number of words read per minute, the correct percentage of questions answered, and the font that best matches the users' reading style. The authors of the Virtual Readability Lab recommend participants complete the test on a computer, not a phone, to achieve the best results.

According to studies, reading in a font that best matches your reading style can increase reading speed without affecting comprehension and lead to better focus. Knowing your readers' fastest font allows educators to support student learning by adjusting fonts when creating worksheets, sharing websites, or providing articles. Use the information learned to adjust font settings in computer browsers. Go to settings, appearance, and fonts in Chrome or Edge to change all websites' font families, sizes, and weights. Include this site in activities encouraging students to participate in active learning and reflective experiences. After completing the test, ask students to write a summary of their results that includes action steps based on the information received. This activity might make an excellent addition to your students' academic portfolios. Have you ever seen a picture and wanted to know where it was taken or what the object was in the image? Google Lens does this and much more. Use Google Lens to identify objects, translate text, find information, and guide you toward action based on the image's content. Click the image icon (small square) in Google's search bar on your computer or app to drag an image, upload a file, or paste an image link to begin. Search the highlighted area on the image to find places, shop for items, extract text, or translate text. Scan a flyer and add a date to your calendar, find visually similar items, or scan a business card to automatically convert the image into a digital contact and add the information to your phone's address book.

If you don't have a Microsoft account, you will be prompted to create one. Add your text to the chat box using as much descriptive language as possible. After selecting enter, Designer produces four images that match your request. Select any image, edit your prompt, or regenerate based on the original text to view more options. After selecting an image, download it to your device, save it to Bing, or use the option to customize the image with the edit button.

Generate any image you can describe with text using the online image generator from Canva, reviewed here. Canva employs three tools (apps) to generate images - Magic Media, Dall-E by Open AI, and Imagen by Google Cloud. Begin by selecting the link to generate images, then select the tool of your choice. Magic Media is built into Canva's design tools and is accessible when creating a design. Dall-E generates realistic images and art; Imagen turns text into photorealistic images. Use Dall-E or Imagen in an existing design or create a new one. After selecting an app, add a text description of the image to generate, including as much detail as possible. Continue revising your text until you are satisfied with the image, then add filters, effects, or other elements available from Canva's library to complete your image. Follow the directions to add your image to your Canva library, include it in a presentation, or share it directly with any supported platforms.

Magic ToDo uses artificial intelligence (AI) to break down tasks into a list of step-by-step directions to complete the job. Enter your prompt or activity into the chat box to begin, then use the pepper icons to select the specificity of directions. One pepper provides an essential list; five peppers offer the most detailed steps. Press enter after adding your prompt and choosing the level of directions to provide to view your results. Open the list by clicking the blue wand next to your prompt; hovering over the blue wand will show "break down the item." After viewing the list, use drag and drop features to change the order of steps in the list if desired, or choose the blue wand next to any item on the list to create additional steps. Other options in a dropbox next to each step of the directions include determining the approximate time to complete that step, editing the information, or deleting the step. Click the checkbox in each step as it is completed for a visual look at the progress in completing the task.

ElevenLabs converts text to speech and provides many choices for voices used in the output. Although creating an account isn't required, it offers users more characters to convert text to speech. After signing in to your account, use the provided options to select a voice for output and adjust voice settings that include stability, clarity, and exaggeration. Each voice preview consists of a short description with suggestions for use, such as children's stories or narration. An additional option lets users generate custom voices using tools to adjust for age, type of accent, and strength of accent. When ready, type or paste text in one of up to 29 included languages to convert to speech; ElevenLabs recommends using longer text passages for better conversion to audio. Click generate to create and listen to your audio. Use the download link to save your audio as an MP3 file to your device. The free plan offers up to 10,000 characters monthly, up to three custom voices, and speech generation in 29 languages.

Auto Classmate shares several free tools for educators that use artificial intelligence (AI) to create engaging activities and lesson ideas. Look for the Free Tools or Freemium icon for free resources Auto Classmate offers. These include an AI-powered lesson plan generator, an activity generator, a would you rather question generator, and a lesson plan and activity forecasting tool, with additional tools being added often. After selecting a tool, input the information in the prompts, such as grade level, content, and options for output. Some tools require registration; others do not. After responding, Auto Classmate offers options to remix for additional suggestions, download the information as a PDF, and provide ideas on how to use the AI responses.

Think of Auto Classmate as your virtual teaching library. Use the free tools to create questions that require students to debate different viewpoints, find ideas for exit tickets, and find ideas for engaging activities for any subject. After selecting ideas provided by Auto Classmate, use a virtual whiteboard tool such as Figjam, reviewed here, or Whiteboard.chat, reviewed here to record students' responses and extend learning.

Automatically record, transcribe, and summarize meetings using Fireflies.ai. This tool uses AI resources to quickly view important information from meetings, such as action tasks, questions, and key topics discussed. Create an account and allow Fireflies.ai access to your calendar and select options for access to scheduled web-conference events. Fireflies.ai includes access to meetings conducted via Zoom, Google Meet, Microsoft Teams, Webex, and other major conferencing platforms. Following each recorded meeting, memberss receive an email with a recording, transcript, and AI-generated summary.

Use Fireflies.ai to record and review any web-based meeting such as parent/teacher conferences and staff presentations. After conferences, use the summarizing tool to share and confirm discussions of goals for students and verify individual responses for next steps. Short Answer is an online tool designed for K-12 classrooms to give students peer feedback. To use it, you need to create an account and set up a question or writing prompt for your students. You can also upload a file if needed. Choose feedback criteria various options, including more detailed or creative ones, or add your suggestions for feedback. Once you are done, save your question or launch the activity. Three activity options are available: All In, Pair It, Battle Royal, and Quick Write. In the All In option, all responses are visible and receive feedback. In Pair It, the whole class compares the same set of responses. In Battle Royal, students vote for the most robust response until only one remains. And in Quick Write, students write independently and reflect together. Additional settings are available for each activity to set the time allowed and options for text and images. Students join using the code created for each activity and are given code names to provide anonymity during the activity. Teachers see student names on their teacher screen and download responses. After receiving student responses, teachers can select entries to be included in the feedback activity based on the activity chosen.

Resources include standards-aligned guides for using Short Answer with any topic or curriculum. The guides provide tips for creating effective questions, suggestions, and examples for use during different stages of lessons. As students use this tool to receive and provide peer feedback, extend learning by asking them to create "How-to" guides for writing in different styles and for different occasions using Canva Infographic Creator, reviewed here or Genially, reviewed here. Adobe Firefly uses generative AI (artificial intelligence) and simple prompts to create images, text effects, and color palettes fueled by your imagination. Visit Firefly's Gallery for inspiration, or begin your journey by selecting from several options. Options include text-to-image, generative fill, text effects, regenerative color, 3D-to-image, and text-to-vector. Additional options are in Beta. After choosing an option and signing in to your account, follow the directions to add a prompt with what you wish to create. Use Firefly's filters and editing options to select one of the generated images and fine-tune it to your desired appearance. When satisfied with your creation, select the "more options" icon to download, copy, or copy the link to your image or save images to your library for later access.

In the Classroom
Use Firefly to create images for many different classroom uses to engage students and extend learning. Use the text effects feature to create text to teach letters or words. An example would be making the word "apple" and filling it with apples to teach beginning letter sounds to students using imagery. Use the text-to-image feature to create images for students to use with creative writing projects or to visualize a scene in a story. Edit images using the Generative Fill option to remove unwanted items or add new items. Edit an image to demonstrate different art styles when teaching students about artists.
