ElevenLabs converts text to speech and provides many choices for voices used in the output. Although creating an account isn't required, it offers users more characters to convert text to speech. After signing in to your account, use the provided options to select a voice for output and adjust voice settings that include stability, clarity, and exaggeration. Each voice preview consists of a short description with suggestions for use, such as children's stories or narration. An additional option lets users generate custom voices using tools to adjust for age, type of accent, and strength of accent. When ready, type or paste text in one of up to 29 included languages to convert to speech; ElevenLabs recommends using longer text passages for better conversion to audio. Click generate to create and listen to your audio. Use the download link to save your audio as an MP3 file to your device. The free plan offers up to 10,000 characters monthly, up to three custom voices, and speech generation in 29 languages.

Conker.ai is an online platform that can help teachers create online quizzes for students of all grades. Teachers can easily customize quizzes based on the topic, the number of questions, and the difficulty level. Questions can be multiple-choice, fill-in-the-blank, or a combination of both. Quizzes can be completed online using an access code or exported to a Google form. First, you must create an account with Google, which requires you to give access to your Google Drive.

Many different output languages make this an excellent resource for world language teachers. Use the presentation tools to highlight information, add annotations, open a whiteboard, and more. Turn your slides into interactive questions to share with students and receive immediate feedback through the responses. Use the rewards option to give or take away stars to students based on your preferences; students move through levels to receive badges by earning rewards. Download ClassPoint to your Windows device by following the directions and prompts provided. Free accounts offer up to a twenty-five-student class size, five questions per PowerPoint, three draggable objects, three saved classes, and basic gamification. ClassPoint is not available for MacOS devices at the time of this review; however, it is being looked at as an option, so Mac users might want to check back to see if it becomes available.

Use this site with students who have difficulty reading, especially when working with more challenging passages and text. Use the video options to convert student presentations into videos, then share presentations on your class website. Narakeet is also a handy option to use when creating flipped learning lessons. Destinos is a video series teaching introductory Spanish through fifty-two video programs (each about 30 minutes long). Courses are offered through the lens of a Spanish telenovela (soap opera) and teach speaking, listening, and comprehension skills. In addition, the series provides content in various Spanish dialects, including Mexico, Spain, Argentina, and Puerto Rico. In addition to the video, each program includes information on the vocabulary featured and a link to a practice area with matching activities, fill-in-the-blank questions, and more.
In the Classroom
Share the videos and supplemental activities with students to view as an engaging way to learn basic Spanish. The introductory videos are in English and incorporate basic Spanish terms throughout the story, making the content easy to follow and not as overwhelming as materials in Spanish only. The first episode provides an overview of watching and learning from the series; consider watching this together as a class before assigning additional episodes so that students understand how to watch and learn from the videos. As students learn new vocabulary, ask them to create simple webpages with Carrd, reviewed here, that share images and simple stories in Spanish. As students' proficiency increases, have groups of students write and record a short telenovela.
