Session Description:

People’s Choice winner. Have you always wanted to try a digital storytelling project but it seemed too complicated? Digital Storytelling 101 gives everything you need! An outline of steps, differentiation ideas and assessment techniques get you started. A list of resources and tools provides everything you need. Create your own example.

Purpose:

Digital Storytelling 101 is your first class in digital storytelling.  Enhance 21st Century Skills with the use of digital storytelling.  With digital storytelling, engage, enhance, and and extend your students’ knowledge within your standards and curriculum.  Digital Storytelling can begin very simply, and become more extensive if you choose.  Use digital storytelling as a formative, or summative assessment.  Twelve  easy steps beings success to starting your first digital storytelling project.  This session is interactive and you will be able to create a short digital storytelling project.

Objectives

1. As a result of this session, participants will be able to locate opportunities in curriculum to use digital storytelling as a way to present knowledge and meet and exceed learning objectives.
2. As a result of the session, participants will understand how to lead students successfully through the digital storytelling process.
3. As a result if this session, participants will be able to determine ways to evaluate the effectiveness of students digital storytelling projects.
