EdTech for the Elementary Classroom
This week we are featuring some excellent elementary-themed finds (yet you may notice many are also appropriate for older grades as well). Explore TeachersFirst-created material, tools to differentiate, assessment options for the young, and even a SAFE online search engine for younger viewers. Click the image above to view our full list of features. Find edtech integration ideas "ready to go" in our reviews!
Are you looking for a SAFE search engine for your class? This search engine is easy to use and kid-friendly. Enter the search term and results are shared. Inappropriate search terms are returned with an "Opps, Try Again." Share with families on your site.
Create, find, and share visually appealing Webmixes (using tiles) to share web resources. You can organize your tiles by subject, difficulty level, and more. The tiles can be color coded and use images. This is perfect for non-reading students!
Peruse this vast library of resources for teaching reading skills including six different literacy strategies. Find details on using the strategy, templates, examples, children's books to teach the strategy, and more. Don't miss the interactive chart.
Differentiation Tools x 4
Explore this quartet of differentiation finds! Included are gamified and personalized virtual worksheets, spelling levels for all, free online books, and math and literacy game-based learning for ages 4-10.
Get started by taking a spelling placement test to determine your spelling grade level. The site offers complete spelling courses for grades 1-8, including weekly word lists, day-by-day practice activities, SAT word lists, and Dolch word lists.
Epic! For Educators
Peruse thousands of high-quality free books for educators teaching grades K-5. Books can be accessed on any device (as an app or on web browser). Add up to 30 student profiles to receive personalized recommendations based on reading ability and interests.

Find self-paced interactives for reading, writing, math, vocabulary, science, music, geography, art, Spanish, Chinese, and finance. Questions adjust to challenge students based on responses. Earn badges, superhero costumes, and certificates.
