Levels of Feedback

1. Task and Product

Novice level
Headed or not headed in the correct direction
Correct or incorrect
Need information relative to task
Need more task knowledge
Example: you have written the first part. But after that it becomes confusing. Go through what you have written and number the steps in the correct order.

2. Process Level

Processes needed to complete task
Leads to alternative processes
Develop learning strategies and ways to detect errors
How to learn from mistakes
Example: You were stuck on a word and looked at me to help you instead of trying to work it out. can you work out why you are wrong and choose a different strategy from our anchor chart?

3. Self Regulation

Goals to improve performance
Provide greater confidence
Enhance effort
Example: When you were stuck on a word you went back to the beginning of the sentences to figure out what it meant. This time it did not help. What else could you do? When you decide what it means and how confident you are that it is correct and why you think that.
