Choose from today, tomorrow, upcoming, or someday in the Time View format. Click the folder icon to sort lists into work, personal, or a folder you name. Any student might appreciate having an online time management account, but learning support students and disorganized gifted students need one. You may want to model using this online tool to help middle and high school students learn personal organization. Share this site the first week of school to get students started on the right foot! Make a demo account for a mythical student and organize his/her daily schedule together so students can see how it works. Share the steps on your interactive whiteboard or projector. Alternately, this idea will work with group projects where students need to learn to manage their project time.

Although Listbrew has some shortcomings, primarily the inability to share lists with others, it may be useful to create lists for personal use. Create to-do lists for each week, semester, or school year. Share Listbrew with students as you help them learn to organize items for large projects including due dates. Showbie is a tool for assigning, collecting, and reviewing student work. You can access Showbie via the web or download the free app to your iPad. Begin by creating your class list and noting the class code to be provided to students. Add assignments including a due date, and add files, images, or videos directly from your computer. This tool also works with the Pages application used on iPads. Upload these files directly from an iPad onto Showbie. Additional options to add to assignments include text and voice notes. Students use the class code to access assignments and return for review and grading. The free version allows unlimited classrooms and assignments. However, the maximum amount of students you can "enroll" in a class is 35.

If you are lucky enough to have an iPad classroom, Showbie is an excellent resource for creating and sharing assignments. However, any device with web access will work fine. Use Showbie in your flipped classroom to provide rich multimedia lessons for students including videos, images, and audio. Share with parents for viewing student work and assignments. Share with other teachers for students to seamlessly view all assignments, including Learning Support and ELL teachers who work with your students. Help your students become more organized with their assignments.

Enter the length of "bookings" (appointments) along with time zone and language preference. Choose a theme to finish set-up. Customize your calendar further with tools under the advanced options. Options include different availability times on individual dates, a block for your lunch period, or requiring a minimum notice to schedule appointments. Doodle is an online tool to simplify scheduling meetings with several participants. Follow the three easy steps to find the best meeting time: set up a poll, invite participants, and confirm the date and time. Set up your poll including proposed dates and times including as many time slots each day as you wish. Refine using options such as only the administrator may view responses or limit the number of participants in each time frame. When ready, send invitations using your email service with the Doodle link or connect your address book for invitations to come directly from Doodle. Two links will arrive in your email: one to administer your poll and the other to share.

WhenIsGood is an easy to use tool to find out when all participants are free for an event or meeting. Choose "get started" and click all possible times and dates for an event. Narrow times to particular days and time periods of 15, 30, or 60 minutes. Give the event a title. Additional options include specifying a time zone and viewing of only specific hours each day. After creating the event, write down the result code provided to receive the link to send to participants. Click the box to receive email alerts for any new responses. Participants highlight their choices and submit adding comments if desired. No registration is required to use this tool. You can register for an account to receive a few additional perks: edit or delete activities, no need for result codes with each event, and more.

Fargo is a simple note-taking and outlining tool designed to work with a single subfolder in your Dropbox account. Authorize Fargo to access your Dropbox, and Fargo creates a sub-folder to store notes. Use Fargo to organize your todo lists, as a simple idea outliner, for project organization, or as a basic notepad/paper. Fargo does not access any other areas of your Dropbox account. Features include tracking tasks, adding exam dates, managing classes, and notification reminders of upcoming events. Enroll through email, Facebook, or Google. Once enrolled, add course schedules to set up a schedule. After entering courses, add tasks with due dates or exam dates. All tasks and information displays on the homepage along with approaching due dates. My Study Life shows both tasks completed and unfinished.

Send the request to chosen staff members by clicking the "Round Robin" button. Once responses arrive, view all information in an easy to view table format. Calendly is an appointment scheduling tool that syncs with your Google Calendar. Sign in with your Google login and set up scheduling pages with your availability preferences. Choose from several options for length of appointments. Next, describe your event and even add additional questions for invitees if desired. Advanced options allow for making events public, limiting the number of participants, and minimizing schedule notice time. You can add buffer time before and after appointments. Share the link with anyone needing to schedule an appointment with you. They simply visit your calendar to schedule an appointment, and it appears automatically on your calendar. Invitees receive a confirmation screen upon completion of scheduling that includes a link to add the event to their own calendar.

Use to manage pictures or videos taken in the classroom and uploaded to Dropbox. If you are using Dropbox in your class, set up this site at the beginning of the year to save you time! Create a rule that moves them all into the same folder (or folders) for easy organization and location of files later. Assignments that are turned in can be moved by a rule you create to go to a private folder that can be accessed later for grading.

Azendoo is an online tool for organizing and collaborating on group projects. It works with other applications such as Everenote, Google Drive, and Dropbox to access and edit group documents. Create to-do lists, work collaboratively, and stay organized. After signing up, you can delegate responsibilities, tag projects, or forward emails to Azendoo to turn into shareable tasks. Use the privacy options to set tasks to private or shared. Free mobile app versions are also available for iOS and Android.

Note Pub is an online notepad: a clean and simple writing tool to keep track of lists, personal reminder notes, or even journal entries. A nice feature is the choice to store notes on your computer. This allows you to edit your notes when there is no Internet connection. So, even when offline just go to Note Pub.com and update. The FREE version allows up to 50 "Notes" per year. Be aware, you must create a screen name and password before you can proceed into the site. This is entirely free and requires no email address. Just make sure you WRITE DOWN or remember the username and password you create, since it cannot email you a password reset!

In the Classroom

There are many classroom uses for an electronic notepad. Science and math students can jot down the steps in a lab or math problem. History students can take notes on the text they are reading, and students in all those subjects can take notes for a test or create questions for a test on Note Pub. Language Arts students can keep track of characters in a novel and write responses as they read. Writing students can use this program as a place to jot down ideas or first drafts. No one has to worry about the general public seeing any of their writing. The free option doesn't allow any "public" notes.

Use Google Keep to save notes directly to your Google Drive account. This tool requires that you have a Google account. Unlike some similar services, such as Evernote, reviewed here, notes kept in Google Keep are saved to your Google Drive account. Use for notes, voice notes, lists, and photos. Access these on any web enabled mobile device. Keep works best with Chrome browsers and Android phones, but our editors had no issues using other browsers as well. Google Keep can also be also used with any school's Google Apps account. Keep is colorful, which is part of the design. Be sure to use the colors as an organizational tool. Keep has a low learning curve and is very simple to use. The quick note feature is invaluable: just type your notes in the text box without logging in or switching screens. To leave a voice note, tap the microphone icon and speak. Archive items easily when you are done. Though Keep is a more generic, basic tool, its value is in its simplicity and ease of use.

In the Classroom

Take pictures of things to do, buy, or finish. Create checklists of steps in a project. Place all of your notes in one place so you do not forget. Use this tool easily in your Bring Your Own Device (BYOD) classroom since all students will be able to access it for free, no matter what device they have. They could "keep" assignment information, reminders, and more. Consider creating a class account that can be used by all students. Spell out the use of the site and what is allowed and not allowed -- and the penalties. Even though all students have the same login, create different notebooks for different tasks that students can use to upload information to be shared by all. Create separate accounts for student groups who can then share their notebook with other groups. Use to snapshot and share links, documents, files, and pictures for any group project or class work. Whole class accounts can be used by a class scribe during class and accessed from home for review, by absentees, etc.
