The Wakelet HUB: NextGen Digital Lesson Design

Session Description:

People’s Choice winner. Deliver engaging, accessible, learner-centered blended lessons that build student self-reliance and support struggling learners. Explore Wakelet, a free platform for organizing and sharing web-based instructional materials. Leave with actionable ideas and strategies for encouraging student creativity and collaboration within the instructional sequence and methods of demonstrating learning.

Purpose:

The purpose is to guide participants through the use of Wakelet to design engaging, differentiated blended learning lessons and/or professional development activities. Special emphasis will be placed on the built-in accessibility tools and instructional strategies to support deep learning (Fullen’s 6 C’s).

Objectives:
    • Participate in an evaluation of Wakelet for instructional use;
    • Gain an understanding of how Wakelet can be used to deliver differentiated blended learning lessons; and
    • Create a plan to deliver a lesson using Wakelet.
