Nifty Fifty Tips and Tools for Global Citizenship

Session Description:
We’ll share 50 tools, tips and strategies for including global citizenship in all grade levels. We’ll also explore tools you can use and discuss strategies to try in your lessons. Then, you’ll have time to collaborate and vote for the best tools.
Purpose:
When we talk about why Global Citizenship matters, we are being called to focus on ISTE Standard 1.3.A: asking teachers to create experiences for learners to make positive, socially responsible contributions and exhibit empathetic behavior online that builds relationships and community.
During this fast-paced session, we will share several tools for promoting global citizenship for students in grades K-12. With each tool, we will also offer tips on ways to use the tools to foster global citizenship in your students. Participants will also try some tools as we collaborate, discuss, and learn together. We will use various interactive activities throughout the session to keep participants engaged. Topics of tools and tips will include Tools to Communicate, Tools to Collaborate, Tools to Teach Global Citizenship, Class Activities to Promote Global Citizenship, and Tools to Create Projects.
