In the Classroom
Use the images and videos in the exhibit for a visual discovery activity. Select 3-4 images, placing them on a slide-show presentation. Have students take notes on each of the images and videos, noting what they observe, infer and predict about each one. After the presentation, have a class discussion based around student notes. This would be great review activity before an assessment, allowing students to apply the knowledge just learned. This would be a great resource for a world history classroom.Ancient Egypt

This site from the British Museum offers a literate, visually attractive, yet very approachable on-line study resource on Egyptian culture, customs, and history. The site has numerous topics and layers, with most content delivered through stories. There are also instructional games and quizzes. Five stars for this one!

Don't let the cartoon style fool you! This site is a very complete resource for students to study Greek mythology, stories, characters, and more. It presents the content is small, visually appealing doses, and includes links to lesson plans and other related information. Well worth a look if you want a site that students can use on their own.

This site offers a wonderful list of X (formerly known as Twitter) feeds to consider if you are just starting out or if you are adding to your feed related to history. The list is categorized by General, Media, Eductors and Students, Departments and Publications, Military, Historical Tweets, and includes the X (Twitter) name with a link and a short description. Feeds include the Library of Congress, quotes and sayings from Thomas Jefferson, and HistoryDay (see what happened on this day in history), and many more.
