You can also click on the letters of the alphabet, across the screen in rainbow colors, to find picturs with both English and Spanish words for the objects.

Also has an Information section from the word list that is more like a mini Encyclopedia. The picture dictionary is a valuable tool for ESL/ELL students trying to communicate in a regular classroom.

Not only is this a great resource for ESOL teachers, but some of the terms that are hyperlinked even have attached worksheets and graphic organizers attached to help other teachers incorporate the "term" into their teaching. One for example that has extra Resources is the entry on Barack Obama - which could be useful for civics or history teachers teaching students about our current political environment.

C'est Magnifique! Find out all about the most famous landmark in Paris. There's lots of information on the tower itself, a virtual tour, and a panoramic view from the top. This is certainly a nice way to introduce French geography and culture. The site incluea a section for kids and a quiz. Note: to read in French, click the French flag. Some of the interactive tour portions require a special Active X plug-in. When prompted, you will need to install these.

This site offers a wonderful list of X (formerly known as Twitter) feeds to consider if you are just starting out or if you are adding to your feed related to history. The list is categorized by General, Media, Eductors and Students, Departments and Publications, Military, Historical Tweets, and includes the X (Twitter) name with a link and a short description. Feeds include the Library of Congress, quotes and sayings from Thomas Jefferson, and HistoryDay (see what happened on this day in history), and many more.
