The Canva storyboard templates page offers many different designs to help you plan stories or projects. You can change these templates however you like by adding pictures, text, and more to bring your ideas to life. It's a helpful one-stop shop for storyboard templates.

In the Classroom
Storyboards don't have to just be for storytelling. Have students pick a historical event or era they have studied or are interested in exploring further and use the templates to create a graphic novel-style storyboard that narrates the event. Have students select a social issue they are passionate about, such as bullying, mental health awareness, or digital citizenship, and have them choose a template to create a comic book. These can be printed and hung around the school. For younger students, customize a template and print it for offline use. It can be used for any sequencing concept, like life cycles or moon phases. Speechify uses AI to convert text to speech and works in many different formats, including web pages, PDF documents, Microsoft Word, emails, and texts. The free plan offers a choice of ten voices and allows you limited options for controlling text speed. Register to create an account; when you reach the page that asks for billing information, do not add this information. Here is how you can get the site for free. Without clicking the page closed, return to the home page by opening a new window and clicking on "Speechify" in the title of this review. You will see a link to the web app materialize; click that, and your account dashboard will appear. Follow the directions to select a document or web page. After the information loads, click play on any text portion to listen. Options on the left side of the page allow you to change voices, adjust the speed, and change options for the page's appearance, including highlighting, scrolling, and dark mode.

Use Speechify as a helpful tool to increase reading comprehension, support English language learners, and help students with dyslexia and other special needs. Upload tests, worksheets, and other assessment documents to support students who have materials read to them. Share Speechify with parents and students for use at home. When sharing Speechify, consider making a short tutorial video using Free Screen Recorder Online, reviewed here to demonstrate how to create a free account, where to find the dashboard, and how to upload and view reading materials.

On this We Are Teachers page, find a curated list of virtual field trip resources to enhance students' learning experiences. These virtual experiences allow students to explore museums, historical sites, natural wonders, and other educational destinations from the comfort of their classrooms or homes! On this site, you'll find descriptions and links to various virtual field trip opportunities, and some resources provide tips for integrating them into lesson plans and activities. Many of these virtual trips are available on multiple YouTube channels. If your district blocks YouTube, the videos may not be viewable. In addition, some of these virtual field trips are sourced from several other sites and organizations; we advise that you review the privacy policies of these external sites to ensure compliance with their district's privacy policies.

Virtual field trips can immerse students in diverse learning experiences that allow teachers to go beyond the boundaries of their classroom. Find a virtual field trip that is relevant or connected to an upcoming unit. Begin by conducting an anonymous poll using a tool like Poll Everywhere, reviewed here or Mentimeter, reviewed here showing images from one of the virtual field trips you've chosen. Display images showcasing significant landmarks, main attractions, or features of the location. Students can post their wonderings, insights, or prior knowledge about the destination based solely on the images. This can ignite curiosity and generate excitement as students speculate about where the destination is. After gathering students' responses, announce that you'll be "taking them there" virtually through an upcoming virtual field trip! During the virtual field trip, integrate presentation tools using Pear Deck, reviewed here. Incorporate interactive question slides throughout the virtual field trip to prompt students to reflect on their learning, make connections, and apply their knowledge. You can even intersperse the presentation with interactive quizzes, polls, or collaborative brainstorming sessions. You can use this to keep the field trip active and engaging rather than a passive sit-and-get activity. Wrap it up by challenging students to become virtual field trip creators! Let them select a destination they want to "visit" and design an ideal virtual field trip experience for their peers. You can provide a template or criteria for students to consider when planning their virtual field trips. Students can use creation tools such as Google Slides, reviewed here or Canva Education Templates, reviewed here to create brochures or presentations that outline the details of their virtual field trip. Introduce the choice board of podcasts to students and encourage students to explore the podcasts based on their interests. Facilitate discussions about the podcasts, allowing students to share their favorite episodes and insights with their peers. You can use a tool like Padlet, reviewed here which offers a digital bulletin board for students to share insights and reflections or students can record video responses discussing their favorite podcast episodes. This is a link to Padlet's Help section for posting video or an image. Integrate some of the podcasts into existing units of study as supplemental resources. For example, assign a relevant podcast from Julie's Library to complement a reading lesson. You can then provide guiding questions or reflection prompts to help students make connections between the podcast content and what they're learning in class. Here's a great blog post on Questioning Strateties that can help you craft those. Wrap it all up by giving students an opportunity to create their own podcasts. Choose from several free resources to create your podcasts. Spotify for Podcasters (was Anchor), reviewed here, Buzzsprout, reviewed here, and PodOmatic, reviewed here. This can be a great collaborative project where students work together to produce podcasts on topics of their choice or related to the unit of study. Once the background is removed, click the link under the image to change the background by selecting from the image library or uploading a photo from your device. When finished, download your video clip as a PNG, animated PNG, or single frame. Free accounts limit clip lengths to five seconds.

Bookmark this site for many classroom uses. Combine a video clip of students with other resources using various tools, including Google Slides, reviewed here. Choose a background image of a city being studied, a different historical period, or a far-away setting like the moon, then place your student video on top. Imagine automatically creating a video from a written description. That's a fantastic prospect, and it is now possible using the magic of Invideo AI. invideo AI turns your ideas into videos in just a few short minutes. After creating an account, select the link to make a video. In the chat space, describe in detail and provide instructions for completing the video using up to 3600 characters. After adding the description, choose the button to generate the video and wait for the magic to happen. Creating videos will take a few minutes. Once your video is generated, use the available tools to regenerate if changes are desired, or choose to export the video when ready. Download the video to your device in mp4 format and select from the available options for video quality. Share videos with students from your device, using the provided link, or export videos to YouTube, reviewed here. Free accounts offer ten minutes per week of video generation, 10 GB of storage, and four exports weekly with the invideo logo. As always, when using artificial intelligence (AI) tools, verify that all information is accurate before sharing it with students.

In the Classroom
Use Mizou in many different ways to engage students in learning. For example, when teaching the novel 1984, use the chat in Mizou's library with George Orwell to engage in critical thinking activities that explore the themes and ties to the modern world shared in the novel. Use the chats to assist students in reviewing vocabulary by selecting the Spreadsheet Vocabulary Review chat and modifying the language to fit your needs. Search by grade level or topic to find options for almost any subject and topic. EduEase automatically creates multiple-choice quizzes from any PDF document using artificial intelligence (AI). Begin by uploading your document or video and then wait for it to process. After processing, click on the document's title to open the quiz. Use options to add questions, delete, or edit content. Share your quiz in several ways, such as copying the share link, using the provided QR code, or exporting it to Moodle. EduEase records results as students post responses for use in analyzing student responses.

Use EduEase to create quizzes as a formative assessment to guide instruction quickly. For example, set-up a short quiz based on your end-of-unit assessment to determine your student's current understanding of the material, focus on content that needs to be learned, and differentiate instruction as needed. Share EduEase with students to review study materials and prepare for tests. EduEase currently only accepts PDF documents; use Tiny Wow, reviewed here to easily convert images, PowerPoints, Word documents, and more to PDF documents.
This resource requires PDF reader software like Adobe Acrobat.

DesignCap provides a quick and easy infographic maker for you to use. No expertise in graphic design is necessary. First, create an account with Google, Facebook, or your email. Next, choose "Infographic" from the left menu. You can then choose the format of infographic you wish to create, such as Process, Timeline, Health, and several others. Once you have the format you want, choose "Customize." You can select a different font and size, upload images from your computer or their library, change the background, and more. When finished, save your infographic to work on or view later or download it to your computer.

Introduce DesignCap's infographic templates found on the left menu. Ask students to select one that appeals to them, and then create one as a class for a concept you just learned or as a review for a test. Show on your whiteboard or with a projector how to select a template or create your own, where to find the image library, and how to upload your own images. Once the class has saved the infographic, you can have them create infographics on their own to include in multimedia reports, as a book report, as a study aid for a test, or to show what they've learned from a unit of study. Find My Pi Day is an educational tool designed to engage students in exploring the fascinating relationship between birthdays and the mathematical constant Pi. The website was created to help people find when their birthday corresponds to the mathematical constant Pi. The website calculates and displays the digits of Pi and matches them with the digits in your birthday. This can be a fun way to celebrate Pi Day, which is observed on March 14th.

Integrating Find My Pi Day into your classroom offers a unique opportunity to engage students in exploring the fascinating world of Pi while enhancing their mathematical understanding. Engage and kickstart the exploration of Pi by using a collaborative whiteboard tool like Jamboard, reviewed here to do a graffiti board brainstorm. On the Jamboard show Pi's decimal representation and invite students to jot down everything they know or think about the number Pi as they see it, encouraging free expression and brainstorming! After students have shared connections to Pi on the 'graffiti board,' direct them to the TeachersFirst Special Topics page to learn more about Pi Day and its significance. You can create a virtual scavenger hunt using tools like Google Forms, reviewed here or Microsoft Forms, reviewed here where you can create tasks for them to search for specific information on the Pi Day website. Extend the learning experience by allowing students to investigate and research real-world applications of Pi in fields such as science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM).
