App Smashing is the process of using multiple apps or tools to create a final product or project. Join us to learn about this concept and how to use Wakelet - a robust curation and digital storytelling tool - in an app smash. Participants will discover the benefits of app smashing in the classroom, explore examples, learn about five tools that can be smashed with Wakelet, then create their own app smash! As a result of this session, teachers will: 1. Understand the concept and benefits of app smashing; 2. Develop the skills and knowledge necessary to create an app smash using Wakelet; and 3. Begin planning to use a Wakelet app smash in an instructional setting. This session is appropriate for teachers at all technology levels.

EduProtocols are a set of structured lesson designs that enable teachers to deliver content and engage students in interactive learning experiences. This second session in our series will review EduProtocols and how they can be used in different subjects and grade levels. We'll also take a deeper dive by creating and planning to implement EduProtocols in the classroom. As a result of this session, teachers will: 1. Understand the purpose and benefits of using EduProtocols in the classroom; 2. Learn how to adapt EduProtocols for different subjects and grade levels; and 3. Practice designing EduProtocols for classroom implementation. This session is appropriate for teachers at all technology levels.

Book Creator includes a built-in language translator for ten languages. If you need additional translation help, download and use Microsoft Translator for Education, reviewed here, or Google Language Tools, reviewed here to translate virtually any language. Provide additional language learning opportunities by asking students to create books in English and their native language and make them available by sharing them on your class website or Google Classroom. Create and share colorful and eye-catching documents that include images, videos, graphics, and more using Canva Docs. Begin with a blank document or choose from the many templates offered and drag and drop elements from the options shared on the dashboard. Canva Docs also offers Magic Write, an artificial intelligence-driven tool that automatically generates content based on your provided prompt. Finally, change any Doc to a Deck (presentation) using the link to convert or use the share link to assign a document to Teams, Google Classroom, or add collaborators.

Ask groups of students to use Canva Docs to create and share visual notes as a study tool alternative to paper and pencil notes. Demonstrate how to use Magic Write to ask questions to learn more about any subject or content area. For example, show students how to add a question in Magic Write, such as, "Tell me more about Abraham Lincoln's childhood." Extend student learning by having students use Canva Docs to create a learning portfolio throughout a unit, then share the portfolio as a final document for assessment. There are two types of AI generators on the site; course planning and activity generators. The course planning generators can create lesson objectives, flash cards, topic notes, and a scheme of work. The course activity generator creates learning activities, rubrics, multiple-choice quizzes, SMART goals, discussion topics, and more. To use TeacherMatic's generators, click on what you would like to create, enter an objective, the number of moves you need, and the level of complexity your lesson requires. Conker.ai is an online platform that can help teachers create online quizzes for students of all grades. Teachers can easily customize quizzes based on the topic, the number of questions, and the difficulty level. Questions can be multiple-choice, fill-in-the-blank, or a combination of both. Quizzes can be completed online using an access code or exported to a Google form. First, you must create an account with Google, which requires you to give access to your Google Drive.

Google Forms is a versatile tool you can use to create surveys and quizzes, collect research data, and plan events easily and quickly. Unlike other "freemium" web-based form tools, Google Forms is completely free and allows for an unlimited number of surveys, questions, and responses. Join this session and learn to use Google Forms to support classroom instruction and improve your productivity. As a result of this session, teachers will: 1. Explore the features of Google Forms; 2. Discover a variety of uses for Google Forms; and 3. Learn to create a basic Google form. This session is appropriate for teachers at all technology levels.

Digital reading often includes a research component that isn't linear, so when reading online, students need to clarify their purpose and then evaluate and synthesize information. Come learn about the processes involved in digital reading and explore three tools that will help you teach critical strategies to your students. As a result of this session, teachers will: 1. Understand skills and processes involved in digital reading; 2. Explore tools that help students find, evaluate, and synthesize what they read; and 3. Plan for digital reading instruction in the classroom. This session is appropriate for teachers at all technology levels.

In the Classroom
Bookmark and save this site when checking students' written assignments and as a resource for learning about AI-generated text with students. Ask students to include a copy of a response from GPTZero when submitting written assignments to demonstrate that the response is determined to be written by a human, not a chat tool. If your school or district doesn't have a policy regarding using AI generators, work with your students to create a classroom policy of proper use.
