Chances are your students grasp subjects differently and have varying levels of ability--so how can you better deliver instruction to reach everyone in class? Branching forms allow teachers to differentiate assessments and account for differences in pacing and outcomes. Join us to learn how to use Microsoft Forms to apply this strategy in your lessons. As a result of this session, teachers will: 1. Learn how Microsoft Forms can support differentiation; 2. Understand how to plan for a branching form; and 3. Learn multiple uses for branching forms. Search information on the site in several ways, such as using a keyword or searching by ISBN, materials, or members. Use the dropdown box labeled "Browse" at the top of the page to conduct a more focused search by grade level, content, type of material, and mobile platform. All available content includes clickable peer reviews and user ratings with an overview of the material, recommended uses, and target student population. Registration isn't required; however, it allows you to bookmark and save topics. In addition, registration offers access to Merlot's Content Builder (website maker) and a Course ePortfolio.

After creating an account, the first step is designing or choosing lessons from SchoolStack's library. Lesson options include adding exit tickets or making tasks optional or required. Next, add assignments to a "stack," like creating a choice board of activities. Then, assign stacks to a whole class, groups, or individuals. Dashboards for students, teachers, and caregivers track students' progress throughout their lessons. Free accounts offer limited stack creation, limited access to the lesson library, and the ability to add one teacher collaborator.

Boston University's Pardee School of Global Studies shares many free resources for teaching about Africa in all grade-level classrooms. Follow the links to access featured resources, podcasts, teaching tips, and more. In addition, there is an extensive library for educators divided into grade-level categories. Each category includes resources for pedagogy, children's literature, lesson plans and activities, and additional classroom resources. Also, this website provides links to teaching about Africa divided into topics that include climate change, geography, literature and language, and others.

In the Classroom
Add this excellent site to your other resources for teaching about the continent of Africa. Consider using a curation tool such as Milanote, reviewed here, to organize your ideas and projects into one location. Add links, notes, images, and more onto one Milanote vision board to make it easy to find and view your resources and ideas. As you implement and teach lessons found on the site, ask students to share their learning using multimedia presentation tools such as Sway, reviewed here, and Adobe Express for Education, reviewed here. HyperDocs is a free resource library for digital lesson plan templates for all subjects and grade levels available to use without registration. Most lessons use Google tools, including Google Docs, reviewed here, Google Slides, reviewed here, and Google Jamboard, reviewed here. Begin your search by exploring the basic templates featured based on different lesson models, or use the keyword search bar to find specific topics. Next, filter down results by grade level, lesson subject, and focus area. Be sure to click the "apply filters" box after making your choices. Each hyperdoc includes a preview for viewing the document; choose the link to "make a copy" to copy and personalize as desired. Although registration isn't required to access and copy the hyperdocs provided on the site, creating an account offers you the opportunity to receive notification of the latest additions to the site.

Google Sites is an easy tool you can use to create a variety of websites. This includes portfolios, which are a great way for students (and teachers!) to share what they've learned and/or created. In this session, we will explore the basics of using Google Sites to set up a portfolio and share tips and tricks for making your content stand out. As a result of this session, teachers will: 1. Identify the basic page types and features available in Google Sites; 2. Become familiar with strategies for creating and organizing a portfolio site; and 3. Brainstorm ways to use portfolios in the classroom. This session is appropriate for teachers at all technology levels.
