Water, Water Everywhere - is one of the TeachersFirst Help! I lost my media/library specialist collection found here. This article features topics and resources that explain how little fresh water there is in the world. The Introduction and Background Knowledge give facts about fresh water and explain the Sustainable Development Goals (SDG) for accessible, clean water. The Activities section suggests several books to read that range from ages PreK to grade 12, with seven videos from which to choose. One activity suggests students practice walking with jugs of water balancing on their heads. Another activity is to simulate cleaning up bird feathers after an oil spill. Additional resources and activities are suggested in the Extensions section.

No registration is required; however, sign up with your email to receive the Teaching with TEACHFLIX ebook to download, which includes suggestions and activities to use with videos. The videos are hosted on YouTube. If your district blocks YouTube, then they may not be viewable.

This session introduces the concept of exit tickets and ways you can use them to gauge what your students took away from your lessons. Learn to use the data from these informal formative assessments to adjust your instructional plan to accommodate the needs of your students. Allow students who are ready to move on and give those who need additional instruction the attention they need. Join us to explore the use of exit tickets and determine how they can fit into your instructional plan. As a result of this session, teachers will: 1. Learn about three categories of exit tickets; 2. Understand how to use exit ticket data; and 3. Plan for the use of exit tickets in your setting. This session is appropriate for teachers at all technology levels.

Pulling all of your lesson content into one collection that students can navigate independently is a great instructional strategy. When used to implement flipped/blended learning, Wakelet allows students to be more self-reliant and gives the instructor more time to help students who struggle. Wakelet offers flexibility in how you share content with your students encouraging creativity in both the instructional sequence and in the ways students demonstrate learning. Join us to learn how Wakelet can be used to reshape your classroom. As a result of this session, teachers will: 1. Understand how Wakelet can be used to deliver differentiated blended learning lessons; 2. Explore Wakelet's built-in tools that support instruction; and 3. Plan to deliver a lesson using Wakelet. Lessons also integrate physical education into learning activities. Select an activity for an overview of learning objectives and the activity then click on the "view" icon to open a PDF document containing the lesson. Use the links found in each lesson to assign to Google Classroom or share via social media options.

In the Classroom
Take advantage of the free activities shared in this math collection to practice and reinforce math facts through physical activity. Consider sharing lessons with your school's physical education teacher as a way to incorporate math instruction as a cross-curricular approach. Incorporate lessons from the site into your current math activities. Use a tool such as Curipod, reviewed here, to deliver blended math lessons that include ideas from this site along with videos, quizzes, and additional materials. Differentiate tasks easily within Curipod by creating activities for different levels of learners. After completing lessons from the collection, ask students to create their own math learning games.
