YouTube is a fantastic resource, but using YouTube videos in the classroom can be difficult in various situations. Make it easier by converting any YouTube video to a downloadable MP3 file to play directly from your device. Paste the link to your video and click the link to begin the download. The footage quickly converts into an MP3 file that is ready to download and use. This site also works as a resource for downloading music, entering a song's name, and searching. Download the results to your device as a music or audio file after choosing the desired selection.

Begin by selecting a template and choosing an option from the examples provided. Next, add information to fill in each of the parts of the template, such as title, description, image, and links or content. When finished, view the preview, then save the app to your account. Editor's note: this site includes apps that are ready to use; however, many are not in English. In addition, a small portion of instructions for building an app may be in a different language, use a translating tool such as the one found at Linguee, reviewed here, to see the directions in English.

Use Kleki's Help feature to locate and use shortcuts and learn about many of the available tools. When finished, download your image to your device in a PNG or PSD format.

Make your selection easier by opening the dropbox on the left menu to narrow options to the free templates. Another option allows you to choose the color of the design. After selecting a template, add or change text, images, backgrounds, and other design elements. Next, upload your images or choose from Canva's image library. Canva's drag and drop features make it easy to personalize any design quickly. When finished, share the link for others to view or download as an image or PDF file.

Time Graphics Timeline Creator offers tools to create interactive timelines that include video, images, and maps. Create an account to begin building a timeline. Locate a date on the timeline, then choose to add a new event. After adding an event, on the dashboard, accept the default title or change it, add information, including a description, beginning and ending dates, and more. Other options in the dashboard include settings to change the look of the marker on the timeline. Although there are other options, the free account only allows saving timelines as public. After saving a timeline, use the provided URL to share or copy the embed code to include on a website or blog. To see an example of a timeline that includes many features available, take a look at this History of Civilization found here, or view the Editor's choices to see a variety of styles.

It may take some time for you to become comfortable with creating a timeline with this product. Share with students to allow them to explore the different options, then ask them to become the teachers creating and using this tool in various ways. After providing a name for your project, use the options to choose a language and toggle contact details on or off. Turning contact details on adds a contact form to your conversation to identify those who respond and offer the ability to reply. When ready, record from your webcam, desktop or upload a video file from your device. Follow each step to prepare your recording, then access the video's URL to share with others. Respondents can answer using video, audio, or text. Free accounts offer up to 20 minutes per month of video or audio processing, three steps per videoask, 3 collaborators to help with organization, and appointment scheduling. Collaborate, share, teach, and interact with students using Whiteboard.chat. Use the teaching mode to create, assign, and teach live lessons. The teaching mode also includes uploading a multipage PDF document and assigning multiple pages as workbooks to individual students. Use the collaborative method to work within a collaborative workspace with other users. After entering the teaching mode, use the toolbar to access drawing tools, upload images and documents, and manage the look and content of your board. Once students enter a whiteboard session using a shared code or link through Canvas or Google Classroom, they can download any shared workbook pages. Student tools include an area to raise their hand to receive help, request a break, indicate work is finished, or request to speed up or slow down the lesson. Observe students using the grid view that provides a thumbnail view of individual student whiteboards. Additional features include a timer, a list of participants, options to create breakout rooms, and settings to lock students from updating boards prematurely. Instead of starting with a blank board and adding information, IdeaBoardz provides several options for creating boards from templates. Choose to create a board, add a name and description to begin. Begin by clicking Create and using the dropdown box to find free templates for comics, narrow choices by color if desired. After selecting a template, choose the link to customize. Each template includes several pages that form a complete cartoon, a blank frame, and illustration sets to enter with your design. The share option offers the ability to share creations with others and allow them to edit the comic. When complete, download your finished cartoon to your device as a PDF file or PDF, JPG, or GIF image.

Cloud Stop Motion provides all of the tools you need without downloading software, and you can use it on any browser. Choose start and allow access to your device's camera to enable the camera to take pictures of items to use in your videos. Follow the instructions to add images, video, text, and sound. When complete, export your video to your device as an MP4 video file or create a free class or school account with Cloud Stop Motion to save up to 2GB in video files. Class and school accounts also offer members the ability to create unlimited student accounts and student groups.

Use Involve.me templates and designs in a variety of ways in any classroom. Create short, interactive quizzes for students and receive feedback immediately through an email or within your Involve.me account. For example, modify the Literature Pop Quiz template for any novel or substitute questions about your latest science experiment to assess student understanding. Use the How Well Do You Know History? template to ask questions about important events during your social studies unit. Have students incorporate the survey templates to use as an interactive portion of classroom presentations. Include the inflation calculator during an economics lesson to help students understand the effects of inflation. Blooket is a digital review game built for classroom use. Educators create game sets, and students join on their device to play a variety of game options using the provided code. Games include options for solo or group play. Build sets using your own questions or search Blooket's library to find games created by other educators. Save favorite sets to your account for later use, then duplicate sets and edit to fit your needs when ready to play. Blooket also offers the option to import quizzes directly from Quizlet, reviewed here. As students join a game, they choose a Blook, a character that serves as an avatar. When ready, choose the "host" option to begin play by selecting a game mode and following prompts. Some games offer the ability to assign homework, allowing students to complete the game within the selected time frame.

Discover and use Blooket's many engaging games as a resource for practicing and reviewing information within any area of content. Create digital materials for teaching and learning about vocabulary with Wordstool. Create an account as a teacher or as a student. Use your teacher account to browse and find vocabulary sets or create your own. Vocabulary sets include word cards that feature example sentences, pronunciation, translations, images, and more. Create sets and build folders to organize materials by topic or teaching unit. Once built, use sets to provide vocabulary practice with five different activities. Free accounts allow educators to assign topics to individual students and track their progress, including tasks completed and the number of errors.

Share Wordstool with students and ask them to create an account for use with any new vocabulary. Whiteboard.fi is a temporary whiteboard tool created specifically for educators and for classroom use. Free accounts offer you the ability to create and use a whiteboard and the accompanying tools without registration. Temporary rooms are deleted following two hours of inactivity. Choose the option to start a new class and follow the steps to begin a session. Options allow you to create a waiting room where students have to be allowed into the whiteboard area and include a save mode that adapts for participants with limited internet strength. Once the room is created, share the URL or QR Code with students. The whiteboard tools include text, drawing, images, and more. When finished, use the included options to save your whiteboard as an image file or PDF document.

In the Classroom
Use Whiteboard.fi to collaborate with students to share and organize information instantly. Use the whiteboard as a brainstorming or sketching space as groups (or the class) share ideas for a major project or solve a real-world problem. Use this site in a computer lab (or on laptops) to create a drawing of the setting in a story as it is read aloud. As an assessment idea, have students draw out a simple cartoon with stick figures to explain a more complex process, such as how democracy works. If you are lucky enough to teach in a BYOD setting, have a blended classroom, or are distance teaching, use this whiteboard tool to view students' whiteboards in real-time. For example, if you study weather, have students diagram the layers of the atmosphere and what happens during a thunderstorm. Introduce this tool to students who are working on group projects. Verse by Verse is an experimental poetry-creation project by Google that uses AI (Artificial Intelligence) to help create poems using classic American poets' suggestions. Begin by selecting up to 3 muses for inspiration. If you aren't sure who they are, click on any image to view short biographical information. During the next step, choose a poem structure, syllable count, and rhyme. Enter the first line of your poem and become inspired by options presented by your muses! When finished, choose from options to copy the text or add a border, then download it as a PNG image. Make sure your students know to attribute the AI Generated poem. There are programs out there to detect AI created writing, see GPTZero, reviewed here.

Introduce different forms of poetry and poets using Verse by Verse. Offer students time to explore and experiment with the different features to become familiar with the different types of formats and styles of the included poets. Have students share their poetry digitally by creating an audio podcast using PodcastGenerator, reviewed here. PodcastGenerator features easy to use tools for creating short audio podcasts. Encourage students to rehearse reading their poetry and add proper intonation, spacing, and reading techniques such as they would for an in-person poetry reading. Besides sharing poems, ask students to add images and record audio, read their poems, and then share their creative process when writing poetry.
