Help! I lost my library/media specialist! - Embracing Research
Additional resources
For grades 3 and up: http://www.kyvl.org/kids/homebase.html
This tutorial/kid portal created by the Kentucky Virtual Library Kids and Teachers Workgroup offers a step-by-step, clickable site that walks students through the research process, defines terms, gives examples, makes suggestions, etc. The site is colorful and includes sound and some animation. This would make a good introductory tool or review tool.
For grades 7 and up: http://rpc.elm4you.org/classic/step1.php?teacher=yes#about
Designed by MINITEX and MnLINK for secondary school teachers and students in Minnesota, this is a very thorough guide to the research process. Even includes options for a condensed version of the process for teachers who have limited class time to devote to research.
