Play a piece of classical music from the website and ask students to imagine a story that matches the mood and tempo. Have them write and illustrate a short story in Book Creator reviewed here, then share it with the class while playing the music in the background. Use the website's rhythm games to teach students basic musical patterns and have students clap, stomp, or use simple percussion instruments to follow along with a classical piece. Create a class "orchestra" where different groups play assigned rhythms. Here's an on-screen music theory resource with explanations, descriptions, and on-screen quizzes that range from the simple to quite challenging. This one works better as a review and practice tool than as a self-study, but there's surprising depth to the presentations on all aspects of music theory. Well worth a visit for iPad and iPhone users.

Share this fantastic site with your school's music teacher, but save it to use with students for a variety of different lessons. For example, incorporate music into your lessons when teaching about worldwide countries, taking advantage of the featured playlists in the educators' section.
