Twinkl provides elementary curriculum resources in all subjects, including many based upon international standards. Although much of the site includes content that requires a paid membership, Twinkl includes many valuable free resources. Use the search bar to find free resources by grade level or content area, including activity booklets, teaching packets, posters, and more. Save favorite resources within your Twinkl account for later use. Use the links at the bottom of the home page to find additional free tools such as Twinkl Create. Twinkl Create is an interactive that includes templates that guide you by creating personalized banners, word mats, flyers, and much more.

In the Classroom
Bookmark Twinkl for use throughout the year to find teaching resources for holidays, content topics, and homework ideas. Take advantage of Twinkl Create to easily make and differentiate charts, banners, word mats, and other classroom use printables. When saving favorite materials found on the site, set the popup reminder to remind you to use it later in the year. For example, when you find the End of Year packet, save it to your account and set a reminder for late spring so that it can be included with other items to include when wrapping up the school year or sending home materials for practice over the summer. Twinkl includes free teaching packets by grade level; these packets include activities customized for different ability levels. Use items from teaching packets as part of your center activities or send them home for additional practice as needed. After downloading materials, make your lessons digital using Kami, reviewed here. Use the free version of Kami to upload documents and add highlights, text, comments, and shapes before sharing with students.

TeachersFirst Reading Treks are built using Google Maps to chronicle the journey that a story character takes over the course of a book. Each stop along the way adds to student comprehension as they explore the information, visuals, and videos embedded in the map. Give your students context for the stories they are reading by using Reading Treks in your lessons. As a result of this session, teachers will: 1. Understand how to use Reading Treks in the classroom; 2. Learn how Reading Treks are created; and 3. Plan a new Reading Trek you will create for your instructional setting. This session is appropriate for teachers at all technology levels.

Take the stress out of creating proper citations using Bibliography.com's citation creator; no registration required. Bibliography.com focuses on creating citations using the three major formats - Chicago, APA, and MLA. Enter a book title, author, or URL to begin selecting the appropriate item from the resulting search. If necessary, add edits to the information such as page number or annotation, then create your citation. Copy and paste your citation into any document or download it to Microsoft Word. Although registration isn't required, creating a free account offers you options, including online storage that makes all items saved accessible from any device.

This is a great site to recommend to students for use at home to build properly constructed citations. If using on classroom computers, previous citations would not be available for all students to use; recommend that students create an account to store and access all previous work. MyBib is a bibliography and citation generator that offers many different citation styles. Use this simple tool to create and save citations for various resources, including websites, PDFs, and ISBN. Begin by selecting the type of resource from the options bar or drag a PDF onto the site. Follow the prompts that may ask for additional information. When finished, select the download option to copy and add to a document, choose from other options to print, add to Google Drive, and more. Creating an account is optional; however, it allows you to save your citations for future use. MyBib also offers a Chrome extension that creates citations directly from websites.

In the Classroom
Include this tool on all classroom computers and as a link on your class website for student use. This bibliography tool helps students properly format their Works Cited pages. Use this tool to help keep your students (or even yourself) organized! Make sure you teach plagiarism lessons about paraphrasing and proper citation of sources, so students use this tool properly! Take the drudgery out of writing formal papers by emphasizing thinking over mechanics. Whether teaching beginning research or seniors in high school, introduce them to MyBib. For younger students, seeing all the formatting and citing done correctly from the beginning makes sense, whether it is the body of the writing or the bibliography. With either age group, give lessons about each part of a paper or letter. Demonstrate on an interactive whiteboard (or with a projector) and think out loud as a group to pull together ideas, sources, quotes, and more to support an argument and build a paper. You can use it, too, when you write for your graduate program. World's Largest Lesson provides resources for educators who teach students about 17 Global Goals created by the leaders of the 193 countries of the United Nations. Visit the Resources portion of the site to browse through the many activities. Narrow your search using the provided filters to locate information by grade level, topic, type of activity, and more. In addition, if you are interested in a particular goal, say Zero Hunger, find the poster with the 17 goals and click on Zero Hunger to find activities and lessons. Downloadable lessons include complete directions, printable worksheets, and key questions highlighted during the lesson. The videos are hosted on YouTube. If your district blocks YouTube, then they may not be viewable. This site would be a good one to leave for your substitute to use; it's high-interest, no sign-in, and has lesson plans & video clips.

Learn to create and use this assignment and feedback loop to help students grow. As a result of this session, teachers will: 1. Learn how to create assignments in Microsoft Teams; 2. One of the more popular blended learning models is station rotation. Having groups of students change tasks on a schedule allows you to meet student needs by differentiating instruction. Join us to explore, compare and contrast three tools that can be used to maximize your "computer station" time when using the rotation model. Learn about the features of each tool and understand how to add them to your instructional toolkit. As a result of this session, teachers will: 1. Learn about the station rotation model; 2. Share ideas on ways to differentiate using station rotation; and 3. Plan to use station rotation when delivering instruction. This session is appropriate for teachers at all technology levels.

Engage students in content review by creating and sharing quizzes to use in learning centers or at home. Ask students to create their own quizzes to share with peers. Demonstrate how to make quizzes on your interactive whiteboard or create a video tutorial using Screencast-o-matic, reviewed here. This demonstration is especially important so that users know how to avoid ads and use the correct links to creating and playing games (hint: look for the links with the gray highlighted background). ClickUp is a task organizing tool that offers the option to integrate information easily from other productivity applications and to collaborate with others. After creating an account, follow the prompts to create lists, folders, and tasks. Create task lists for projects and use labels to prioritize jobs, import a calendar, add and assign items to collaborators, and much more. Learn more about using and organizing ClickUp by viewing the On-Demand Demo videos found in the Learn tab. Free accounts include up to 100MB storage with unlimited tasks and users.

Use ClickUp to organize your professional life and share it with students to manage their academic and personal needs. Any student would appreciate having an online time management account, but learning support students and disorganized gifted students need one. You may want to model using this online tool to help middle and high school students learn personal organization. Make a demo account for a mythical student and organize his/her academic and individual needs together so students can see how it works. This site is particularly helpful for students who dislike writing or have difficulty expanding on their thoughts. Help students explore and expand word choice options by sharing the Big Huge Thesaurus, reviewed here. After completing their six-word memoirs, ask students to use Canva Edu, reviewed here, to enhance learning by creating posters that further share their thoughts and reflections.

ziplet is a free student response system that works on all devices. Use ziplet to send questions to students instantly or schedule them in advance. After registration, follow the steps to create a group, invite students, and ask questions. Choose from different options for student responses, including multiple-choice, short answer, emoji reactions, or a scaled score from 1-7. Invite students into your group using the provided code. Students use their Google account to login and access questions. Upon receiving responses, Loop provides options for responding to students. Free accounts allow two teachers to use the application with three groups and 50 students per group.

What did the earth look like 240 million years ago? 20 million years ago? When did the first land animals appear? What did our world look like with the Pangea supercontinent? This visualization of the earth shows viewers these answers and more. Use the dropdown box to see the earth as it looked from zero to 750 million years ago. Use your cursor to spin the planet to view any area or to zoom in and out. Another option lets viewers choose to view the earth as it appeared with the first appearance of algae, shells, and other items on through the extinction of dinosaurs.

In the Classroom
Engage student interest by sharing this site with them and letting them explore. Use Google Jamboard, reviewed here, to create a bulletin board for students to share their observations. Ask them to add sticky notes and drawings with their thoughts and questions. If desired, create multiple boards to divide information by periods. Use a bookmarking site such as Wakelet, reviewed here, to include a link to the site as part of a larger learning unit on dinosaurs or the earth's evolution over time. Include videos, websites, quizzes, and more as part of your unit on Wakelet. As students learn about changes in the earth over millions of years, enhance learning using Google My Maps, reviewed here.
