Career episodes include park ranger, costume designer, marine scientist, video game designer, language instructor, robotics engineer, and more. Episodes are eighteen to twenty-four minutes long. Each episode also has an activity page that could be a word search, coloring by code, matching, a maze, and more. Activity pages come in both English and Spanish.

After watching an episode, have students write a journal entry imagining a day in the life of that career. They can describe tasks they would do, skills they would need, and why they would (or wouldn't) enjoy the job. Have students create cards listing various skills (ex., problem-solving, teamwork, creativity). Students work in teams to match each career from the series with the skills they think are most important for that job -- and explain their choices. Pair students up and have them role-play a mock interview. Options include lesson planning, worksheet creation, text-leveling tools, and more. After choosing a tool, complete the form that asks for information like grade level, topic, and additional context. Add a file, content from Google Drive, a link, or a YouTube video. Adding content from Google Drive requires logging in to a Padlet account. After adding information, click the bright colored bubble next to the form to generate content. When finished, copy the text to a document, export it to Google Docs or PDF, or use the share link to share the URL of a view-only version of your prompt and output.

Use yEd's editing tools to change colors, add or remove information, or make additional adjustments to a diagram. You can also use the AI-prompt feature to edit the diagram. When complete, share your diagram by URL, print it, or download it to your device.

After introducing the AI prompt feature, have students create diagrams "on the fly" to organize information. Library of Congress's Emancipation Proclamation: Primary Documents in American History is a free website that contains digital materials from the Library of Congress, links to related external websites, and a print bibliography. Documents from the Emancipation Proclamation include a draft of a message to Congress from President Lincoln, various notes and drafts of the Emancipation Proclamation, and the official copy. The site also offers a list of books for adults and young readers on the topic.

In the Classroom
Students can explore the links on the Library of Congress's website. Students can create a timeline using Timeline Infographic Templates reviewed here from the start to the finish of the passage of the Emancipation Proclamation. Students can compare and contrast three pivotal documents to understand the progression of emancipation in the United States. Compare using a tool such as ClassTools Interactive Venn Diagrams reviewed here. You can click on the right side to choose between a two or three-circle Venn diagram. Students can creatively express their understanding of the Emancipation Proclamation through art. After studying the Emancipation Proclamation, students can create a visual representation (ex., a poster, comic strip, or illustration) that captures the essence and impact of the document.
